Welcome to fixturebusters.com. This site is dedicated to kicking the habit so many Rails developers have picked up over the past few years. Think of this as your Fixtures Anonymous (FA), beating fixtures one episode at a time. I will be presenting screencasts in full technicolor for everyone to enjoy that will show you how to refactor fixtures out of your application. Together we can beat this problem and help make our wonderful ghetto a place that people will be proud to play in!

Fixtures. Fixtures fixtures. If you have any services that integrate through the database, stubs fail for full-stack smoke testing.
  2. Aaron Says:
In the case you want to to end to end service testing, you should stub some things, but you should not be using fixtures to back your tests. You should be creating real instances of your objects and really testing your object model with your services. Fixtures don't do you any good in that kind of a situation.
